Why article 25

Article 25 foundation was born out of love and need for people living with dementia.In many parts of the world, people with dementia are excluded from daily life, seen as crazy, stripped of all their rights, shamed into degrading facilities and in some countries even murdered. We find this demeaning and want to change this and…. hopefully together with you.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to create global awareness of people with dementia, to see and treat them as equal human beings and to provide them with a good standard of living.

Structure and organization

The Article 25 Foundation, a charitable organisation under Dutch law, was officially established in 2021 with the signing of its founding statute. Its assets are used to achieve its goal of helping people with dementia improve their standard of living in accordance with Article 25 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.

The Article 25 Foundation consists of an Executive Board, a Supervisory Board, a Review Committee and Ambassadors.

What makes it so special
Structure
executive board

It consists of five natural persons or representatives of legal persons, who serve the foundation as a rule on a voluntary basis. The term of office of the members shall be two years and they may be re-appointed. One of them shall be elected chairman for the same two-year term.

Supervisory board

The Supervisory Board consists of at least one person and at most five persons. In a general sense, the Supervisory Board assesses whether the Executive Board, in its policy-making and the execution of its management tasks, keeps an eye on the foundation's interests in relation to its social function.

Review committee

The Review Committee consists of five members living with dementia, appointed by the Executive Board. The committee reviews the board's decisions for their relevance to people living with dementia.

Ambassadors

Ambassadors support and commit themselves to the objectives of the Article 25 foundation to the best of their ability. The Ambassadors receive only an expense allowance and are appointed by the Executive Board for a term of two years and may be re-appointed.
